Many new moms feel run down, ragged, and overwhelmed but desire to be fashionable, hip and classy as much as possible. Understandably!
Even if you are a little behind on shaving your legs and updating your wardrobe because you, naturally, put all of your time and every spare dollar to use for your little bundle of joy, you can still “glam it up” in some ways! Getting designer checks at cheap prices, yes even cheaper than you can get at your bank, is a fun way to jazz things up for yourself.
Did you know that your bank does NOT actually print your personal bank checks? No, really, they don’t! Banks contract out their personal check printing to a third party company. In fact, many banks even use the same exact check printing companies that our favorite online checks store, GirlyChecks.com, uses! The only difference between buying checks from online suppliers and your bank is that you’ll save money and what new mom doesn’t love saving money?! We have found that buying personal bank checks – even designer personal bank checks like Disney checks, sports team checks, girly themed checks, mommy checks, family checks, kid themed checks, flower checks, and more – online costs only about a third of the price of ordering checks through your bank. So what are you waiting for? Cheaper checks! CUTE checks! COOL Checks! Hip Checks! Stylish Checks! Did we mention CHEAP checks?! Checks printed and mailed to you from the same companies that many major banks use! Hot checks! (Even manly checks if you happen to be ordering for your boyfriend, partner, or hubby!) And did we mention the checks are CHEAP! Check out GirlyChecks.com to order the perfect checks to fit your new mommy-but-still-glam personality!
By the way, if you are looking for the guys, you may also want to check out a couple other checks sites that we’ve found to be pretty awesome – ChecksFinder.com and CoolChecks.net. Or, if you happen to be a cat and/or dog lover, check out DogAndCatChecks.com.
Happy online checks shopping!

Recently we had about 5 inches of snow here in Maryland and I noticed a cousin of ours post a picture of “Snow Ice Cream” on Facebook. I inquired about the Snow Ice Cream to find out if it was actually made with snow and yes, indeed, her mother had made Snow Ice Cream using real snow! How interesting!
Our cousin wasn’t exactly sure what ingredients her mother used and how much she used of them (other than the snow, of course) so I did what everyone naturally does when they have a question and I Googled it.
It turns out you use snow, vanilla extract, milk, and sugar, in most online Snow Ice Cream recipes, anyway. Most recipes seem to call for:
- 1 large mixing bowl of fresh, untouched snow
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- milk (How much milk depends on the consistency that you want it to be – of course, the more milk you use, the smoother it will be).
Snow Ice Cream is easy! All you have to do is take that large bowl of fresh, untouched snow and mix in the vanilla extract and sugar then gradually add in the milk as you stir the snow until it is the consistency that you want. Plan to use at least one cup of milk, maybe two, for a large mixing bowl of snow.
I personally am not a big fan of just plain ole vanilla ice cream so I prefer to add a little chocolate sauce or caramel to my Snow Ice Cream and maybe even a few sprinkles or M&Ms. Of course, you can add whatever toppings you choose, just don’t make them too heavy or they will crush the Snow Ice Cream as it is a little more delicate than regular ice cream that you buy from your local grocery store.

Tonight Zoe, our girl Elf on the Shelf, wanted to be a little daring and festive at the same time! She grabbed a set of battery operated Christmas lights and scaled the Christmas decorations on the staircase bannister. Funny little elf. 🙂
By the way, a ton of people have asked so I’ll let you know, too…our Christmas bulb garland came from Target (or Target.com) last year and the year before. I’m not sure if they carry it again this year or not, but I’ve seen other Christmas Decorations of the same theme/colors this year that I have seen in past years.
